The
Ovahimba people are an indigenous tribe from northern Kunene Region of Namibia (formerly known as
Kaokoland). As a
result of urbanization the Himba people have migrated to different parts of
Namibia. A small population of the Himba people live in the Mondesa and DRC
informal settlement. Both Himba men and women are distinguished by their
unique cultural attire which consists of skirt-like clothing made from
calfskin. Himba people, especially women are famous for covering themselves
with “otjize” paste, a cosmetic mixture
